Genting Croupier stars at European Dealer Championships 2019

The European Dealer Championship 2019 took place at The Olympic Park Casino in Tallinn earlier this month and for the first time since UK operations began, Genting had a member of staff take part in the contest.

Genting Crockfords London croupier, Chris Hall, flew out to the Estonian capital to compete in the three-day event which ran from 29 April to 1 May. Now in its 12th year, the Championship brings together Europe’s best croupiers;giving  them the opportunity to showcase their skills and levels of professionalism.

Chris secured his place at this year’s competition when he was awarded second place in the UK Dealer Championships run by the National Casino Forum. In 2018, Chris was also successful in Genting’s very own Croupier of the Year competition.

Over the course of the competition contestants had to demonstrate their proficiency dealing Black Jack and American Roulette in front of a jury of judges who scored the performances against a criteria of:

  • Hospitality – contestants must be polite, courteous and approachable
  • Technical skill – contestants must cut chips correctly, use both hands correctly
  • Control of the game – contestants must demonstrate current and accurate knowledge of gaming information

Chris did himself proud in the competition, battling his way through to the semi-final stage of the Championship where he was eliminated by the smallest of margins.

Commenting on his experience at the competition Chris said:

It’s been a whirlwind couple of days. I was honoured to represent Genting at such a prestigious industry event. The talent on show was of the highest calibre and is testament to the whole industry.
