Genting calls for runners to lace up for the Great Birmingham 10k

The UK’s second largest city, Birmingham, plays host to the Great Birmingham 10K Run on Sunday 26 May and Genting Casinos are recruiting runners, joggers and walkers to sign up and take part in the event to raise money for its charitable partner – CHIPs.

Genting has pledged to cover the cost of race entry for all runners wishing to participate in the 10k event as long as they raise a minimum of £100.00 for the charity.

Those taking part in the event will run a race route that takes in some of the City’s most iconic landmarks including: the Rotunda and Bull Ring. To celebrate crossing the finish line, all runners representing Genting and raising money for CHIPs are invited to a post-race party in the Lake Lounge at Resorts World Birmingham.

Mark Sergeant, Group Managing Director said:

The Great Birmingham Run is an opportunity for people to exercise in the outdoors and raise some much-needed funds for a really great cause.” “It costs £7,000.00 to purchase just one wheelchair. It would be great if we could sign up enough runners and supporters to be able to purchase a wheelchair.

The CHIPS Charity was founded on behalf of the Casino and Gaming Industry in order to raise funds to purchase specialised power wheelchairs for youngsters with varying disabilities.

Since the charity started back in 2015, Genting has successfully raised more than £121,000 for CHIPS. The money raised has purchased 18 wheelchairs for deserving youngsters across the UK.
