March saw the introduction of Genting’s first national Electronic Roulette Tournament. More than 11,500 players took part in the free to enter competition with events held at 35 of Genting’s 42 UK casinos between the 1st and 31st of the month.
Each casino held regional heat sessions and a tournament final with a grand prize of £2,500.00 up for grabs. The exception to that rule was Genting’s three Liverpool venues – Wirral, Renshaw St and Queens Square, and the Edinburgh estate (Fountain Park and York Place), where regional finals were held in the biggest venues, with a first-place prize of £5,000.00 on offer.
Punters taking part in the competition started the tournament with 1,000 non-negotiable credits. Players were able to bet as little or as much as they liked on each spin (subject to machine limits). The excitement of each tournament session lasted for at least five spins, or until the player had run out credits.
During the qualifying heats, the players with the three highest credit scores were placed onto a leaderboard and invited to compete in the final.
The month-long tournament proved popular amongst customers. Vince Williams Director of Retail Marketing said:
The feedback from both customers and staff on the Electronic Roulette Tournament has been overwhelmingly positive. We’ll be looking to bring the Electronic Roulette tournament back in the future.
